Today I was significantly less exhausted than yesterday, so I'm on the path to being a normal person again. Although...my throat hurts a bit so I hope I'm not getting a cold because that would put a major damper on weekend of weddings plan. Early to bed tonight!
My kids were in full discussion mode about my wedding again today and one of my little boys said, "you are marrying someone named Eric? I thought you were going to marry ME!" haha. I told him he was too young for me and he devised a whole plan to solve that problem. Apparently, he is going to cast a spell on me so I will not get older at my next birthday until he is 25 and then we will both be the same age. This same boy told me he wants to be doctor in order to make a lot of money, so I mean this could work out good for me. Did I mention he is an adorable kid with beautiful parents? Sorry Eric...I'm leaving you for a 5 year old! Besides, I have not been quiet about the fact that I'd love to freeze my age at 25 and this allows me to do that for 20 years! And then marry a rich doctor. Maybe I'll have to negotiate with him to see if this plan would allow me to stay 25 until he is a doctor, cuz frankly I don't want to deal with him in med school, that could be a lot of bills for me. This has been well thought out, believe me.
Anyway, let's talk books today. Part of being healthy is having relaxing hobbies I always read, but I have been on a major reading kick lately. Of course with the insanity that is my life right now, I have been reading the same book for the past 3 weeks, but hey, it's a long one. If you have not read American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld, you should...right now. And while you are at it, hop on over to Emily's blog and join our Blogger Book Club. It's low pressure, all you do is read the book we read each month and then discuss it with us. I believe Lisa is doing a guest post this month on American Wife and I saw a picture of her book on her blog with lots of tabs in it, so I think we are in for a great post :) I usually only tab up books when I am reading them for work (and yes, I have insane collection on teaching reading, writing, math, and dealing with kids in general haha) but I had a friend in college who was an English major and he was totally highlighting his pleasure reading book in Aruba. I love book nerds. I wish I was a bit more of one to be honest. Me + the classics = not friends, me + most of what we had to read in high school = not friends. My two least favorite books of high school were Lord of the Flies and The Metamorphosis. I truly don't understand either of those books, maybe if you do you can enlighten me, neither of my English teachers could do it.
Anyway, I am almost done with American Wife and I need a new book asap. I was going to read The Year of Fog but I'm not sure I want to read about a missing child at the moment. Since Eric is in our Saturday night wedding and I'm not, I have to kill 90 minutes on Friday during the rehearsal, a little time before the ceremony on Saturday, and then a two hour gap in between the ceremony and reception by myself. If you happen to see a girl with brown curly hair sitting in a car reading with a dress on, that'll be me! So I need some recommendations.
What was the best book you have read lately? And, because reading in a car in a dress is NOT my favorite place to read, where is your favorite place to read? My favorite place to read is on the beach, or the dock at Lake Sunapee :)
